An Evening That Echoed The Consumers’ Voice
The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards 2009

At a vibrant function held in New Delhi’s Park Hotel, Dr Kiran Bedi, IPS and Magsaysay Awardee and other dignitaries presented the 2009 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Platinum and Gold Awards in more than 30 product categories ranging from airline and cars to mobile phones, packaged drinks and printers.

The Chief Guest for the evening, Dr Kiran Bedi spoke about the need for building and creating trust not only in regular brands and services but in other spheres of life as well.

Mr Rajat Sethi, Executive Director of Reader’s Digest India, explained how the winners were chosen: “Strictly on the basis of independent surveys conducted by Nielsen International to determine the true preference of consumers. Survey respondents had rated each brand on six core qualities: Trustworthiness & Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation and Social Responsibility. The Trusted Brand survey has been conducted annually in India since the past four years and all over Asia since 1999” affirmed Mr Sethi.

The audience of over 300 delegates was entertained with scintillating performances by a music group as well as some brain bending quizzes with some attractive prizes thrown in.

The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands event was presented by State Bank of India in association with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Ceat and Godrej. The telecast partner for the event was Headlines Today and the hospitality partner was The Park, New Delhi. The event was powered by Mail Today.
