RUPEES 1 CRORE SWEEPSTAKES 2010 WORKS:

The promoters of this Sweepstakes are Reader's Digest Books & Home Entertainment (India) Pvt Ltd (RDBHE), having its Registered Address at Sankalp', C-227, Ground Floor, Westend Marg, Near Garden of Five Senses, Paryavaran Complex, New Delhi-110 030, and Living Media India Ltd (LMIL), having its Registered Address at K-9, Connaught Circus, New Delhi 110001, the licensed publisher in India of Reader’s Digest magazine. RDBHE and LMIL shall herein after be jointly referred to as “the Promoters”. The Sweepstakes is presented in conjunction with various product offers of the Promoters and opens on January 01, 2010. Entry is by invitation only, and is open to residents of India of legal age. Employees of the Promoters, their associated companies and agencies, and their immediate families up to the second degree of consanguinity, are not eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes.

Eligibility for entry to the prize draws offered is dependant upon replying in accordance with the conditions and instructions in the accompanying promotional material. No purchase is necessary to enter. Multiple entries are permitted provided each entry is on an original entry form. No facsimiles or copies are permitted. In some cases where it will not be necessary to return an entry form to participate, specific mention will be made of that fact in the promotional material. When website or telephone entry is offered, entries may be submitted by following the instructions in the promotional material. The Promoters will accept no responsibility for entries which are incomplete or incorrect, become lost or damaged, or delayed in transit. All eligible entries will qualify as finalists and have a fair and equal chance to win.

The Promoters reserve the right to increase the value of any prize on offer in one or more mailings. The decision to increase a prize value for a mailing will be totally at the discretion of the Promoters and will be indicated in the promotional material for the affected mailing. Should the winning entry come from a mailing in which an increased prize value has been offered, the winner will receive the increased prize value indicated in that mailing. For all other mailings a winning entry will receive the stated prize value without the increase.

The Quick Cash Prize will close at midnight on May 31, 2010 and the draw will be held on June 16, 2010. The Rush for Riches Prize will close at midnight on October 31, 2010 and the draw will be held on November 17, 2010. The Super Grand Prize, Early Reply Bonus, First Prize, Second Prize, Annual Treasure Chest Prize and Pegasus Prizes will close at midnight on December 31, 2010 and the draw will be held on January 22, 2011. Winners will be determined from eligible entries through a computer generated random drawing held in the presence of an independent auditor. Winners chosen will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained.

Winners will be notified by Registered Mail and the winners of cash prizes will be announced in the Indian Express, Mumbai Edition on June 30, 2010 for the Quick Cash Prize, December 1, 2010 for the Rush for Riches Prize and the April 2011 issue of Reader’s Digest magazine for the other prizes. Prize preferences indicated by participants at time of entry simply highlight options available and are not binding; actual choices will be confirmed with winners after the draw. The Pegasus Prizes are not redeemable for cash. All taxes that may be payable on prizes will be deducted at source. Any prizes that remain unclaimed for two months after the announcement of the winners shall be forfeited. All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts or Tribunals in New Delhi only.

A winning number was randomly selected by an independent auditor on November 30, 2009. This number was registered and enclosed in a sealed envelope and kept by the auditor. On January 15, 2011, the auditor will release the winning number to the Sweepstakes Administrator who will verify whether the person who was issued the winning number has in fact returned it as instructed, and is therefore the winner of the prize. If the winning number has not been returned, the prize will be awarded to the person who has returned the nearest number to the winning number, with the higher number having precedence in the event of two returned numbers being equidistant from the winning number. All decisions regarding the draw will be final.
